2020 Honda CR-V vs 2020 Honda Pilot

Serving Charlottesville, VA

Are you trying to decide which of the Honda SUVs is the right model for you? We maintain a great selection of all of our current models at Umansky Honda, so we make it easy to compare these two models in person. The 2020 Honda CR-V is a compact crossover SUV, and it sits below the Honda Pilot in the current model lineup. The Honda Pilot is a midsize crossover SUV with three rows of seating, and it is currently the largest SUV in the line. Their differences continue across their features, equipment, and capabilities.

Performance

The 2020 CR-V is available in your choice of a gas-powered or hybrid powertrain. The standard powertrain across all four trims is a turbocharged 1.5-liter engine that gives off 190 horsepower. It is connected to a continuously variable transmission featuring a sport driving mode. The 2020 Honda Pilot, on the other hand, comes with the same V6 engine across all six of its trims. This powertrain produces 280 horsepower. At the three lower trim levels, the engine is linked to a six-speed auto transmission. The top three trims carry a nine-speed auto transmission with paddle shifters and shift-by-wire.

Appearance

The 2020 Honda Pilot is substantially larger than the CR-V. The CR-V's sporty façade is defined by strong curvature as the angled hood rolls into the signature Honda grille. The side windows have a sharp angle at the rear, and this is accentuated by the angled contouring across the door panels. In comparison, the 2020 Honda Pilot expresses its confidence through level horizontal surfaces over the hood and roof. The nose has a flattened front with a variation on the signature Honda grille. The side windows carry back to a modest point at the rear. Shared equipment may include a roof spoiler, tinted windows, heated side mirrors, a power liftgate, and other gear.

Features

The Honda CR-V and the Pilot have many comparable features throughout. However, on a trim-by-trim basis, the Pilot holds a few other standard features. Both models come with heated front seats, smart device app integration, a heated steering wheel, Honda Sensing® safety features, Apple CarPlay, automatic climate management, USB charging ports, and other items. The Pilot adds equipment like a multi-zone audio system and a wireless internet hotspot.

The best way to experience the stunning differences between the CR-V and the Pilot is to visit Umansky Honda in person. We will happily get you on the road in the trims that you are drawn to, and we can help you compare these Honda models to some of the other Honda SUV models on the market today.
