2020 Honda Pilot vs 2020 Subaru Ascent

Serving Charlottesville, VA

The Honda Pilot is often a preferred model among SUV shoppers who need the functionality of three rows. It has almost two decades of history on the road, and the 2020 Pilot displays exciting updates from a complete facelift. Like the Honda Pilot, the Subaru Ascent is a midsize crossover SUV with three rows of seats. As a newer model that was introduced in 2019, the Ascent is understandably intriguing. Which of these crossover SUVs is a great fit for you?

The 2020 Pilot's exterior has a prominent character that displays confidence from end to end. The front end is notably impressive, with an upward-trending grille-mounted over a sporty lower fascia. This grille has horizontal bars that carry directly into the tapered LED headlights. The lower-front piece curls upward at the ends. The Pilot's exterior may also have lower-body cladding, foglamps, hands-free liftgate access, a powered moonroof, and other equipment. In comparison, the 2020 Subaru Ascent has a stretched look throughout its profile. This is created by flat, stretched surfaces on the roof and hood and by a sharp angle across the windshield. The Ascent has Subaru's classic grille design, a rounded nose, a liftgate spoiler, and LED lights in select trim levels.

The Subaru Ascent and the Honda Pilot provide seating for eight adults with shared equipment like easy-fold seats in the second and third rows, heat and power controls for the front seats, and a panoramic sunroof in some trim levels. The 2020 Pilot has a tall, slender center stack with a flared feature on the stack's top. The top section holds two of the air vents with an available touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The Ascent's dashboard has a similarly flared design, but the side pieces on the top of the stack are less significant. The infotainment system display screen is accompanied by buttons and knob controls, Bluetooth connectivity, a sound system, and a few other items.

The Pilot and the Ascent both have a suite of unique safety technologies that protect in unique ways. The Pilot's suite is known as the Honda Sensing® system. It includes equipment like adaptive cruise control, a collision mitigation braking system, a road departure mitigation system, and lane keep assistance. The Subaru Ascent's suite is the EyeSight system, including auto pre-collision braking, adaptive cruise control, and a few other features.

Our inventory at Umansky Honda carries many Pilot SUVs at any given time, and most or all of the Pilot's trim levels may be represented well in today's inventory.
