2022 Honda CR-V vs 2021 Honda CR-V

Serving Charlottesville, VA

Across most of the CR-V’s history, Honda has made improvements to the model year after year. These updates have covered the CR-V’s design, features, and capabilities. With this in mind, you may be wondering about the improvements that Honda has made to the CR-V between the 2021 and 2022 model years. While the 2022 CR-V is identical in most ways to the 2021 version, there is a critical difference that you need to be aware of before you make your next purchase.

For 2021 and 2022, the CR-V’s five trim levels are the LX, the Special Edition, the EX, the EX-L, and the Touring. All options for 2021 and 2022 hold a 190-horsepower, turbo four-cylinder engine and a continuously variable transmission. For the first four trim levels for both years, you have the option of front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive. In the top-of-the-line Touring trim level for 2021, you have the same options. However, in 2022, the CR-V Touring’s standard drivetrain is all-wheel drive.

The Honda CR-V has consistently garnered attention on the road thanks to its all-around good looks, so you may be thrilled to learn that Honda has not changed the exterior design between 2021 and 2022. The style is defined by a short, angled nose that flows up to a tall, curved roofline. On the front end, you will find a hexagonal grille flanked by beautiful LED headlights and a molded bumper. Definition on the sides of the hood and on the lower door panels show off the CR-V’s individuality.

A trim-by-trim comparison of the CR-V’s features for 2021 and 2022 reveals no major differences. Opt for a lower trim level for either year. Your CR-V will have lane-keep assist, forward collision mitigation, adaptive cruise control, a four-speaker audio system, and an automatic climate management system. Top CR-V trim levels come with USB ports in the front and rear, a nine-speaker sound system, a power liftgate, roof rails, an automatic dimming rearview mirror, an integrated navigation system, leather upholstery, and wireless device charging.
