At Umansky Honda, our many valued customers in the Charlottesville area are often curious about the most recent updates to our models. Now that you are in the market for a compact crossover SUV, you may be interested in learning more about the next-generation 2023 HR-V. The 2022 HR-V and the 2023 version have a variety of similar traits, but the 2023 HR-V stands apart in exciting ways.
The HR-V is a nimble crossover that is fun to drive across all model years, but there are performance differences between the 2022 and 2023 versions. A 141-horsepower, 1.8-liter powertrain and a continuously variable transmission are in the 2022 HR-V. Front-wheel drive or optional all-wheel drive are offered. In 2023, a more responsive powertrain is introduced. This is a 158-horsepower, 2.0-liter system that comes with the same transmission and drivetrain configuration. However, Real Time AWD™ replaces the standard all-wheel-drive system for the 2023 model year. Another important difference is the introduction of an independent rear suspension in the latest model year.
The exciting differences between these versions of the HR-V continue throughout their exterior designs. Both models have a flowing profile, but the 2023 HR-V has a wider, longer stance. The 2022 HR-V has sharp accents through the sides as well as triangular headlights and a long grille. The 2023 HR-V has smooth side doors, a powerful accent that runs down the hood, and a smaller grille. The headlights have been redesigned and now have an orange accent light.
When you take a closer look at the HR-V for 2022 and 2023, you will see many shared safety and cabin features. Both versions of the HR-V have gear like lane-keep tech, blind-spot detection, USB power ports, adaptive cruise control, leather upholstery, forward collision mitigation, a central display screen, a keyless engine starter, heated front seats, wired smart device app connections, and a rear auto-dimming mirror. A few features have been added to the HR-V for the 2023 model year. These include a larger central display screen, a wide-angle camera, a driver’s digital instrumentation screen, a wireless charging pad, traffic jam assist, wireless connectivity for the smartphone apps, and traffic sign recognition.
